Gettin at it!

Yes, as of this moment I am caught up with the happenings around here. In between work and housework and all the rest of the stuff, I think the blog is up to date....(for now)...

Enjoy!

Moose Hunting

This is another yearly tradition in my household. Where 3 members of our family load up and drive for hours and hours not going south.....NORTH!!
Why do they do it?? They track through swamps and dense bush to spy one of these ugly creatures....

Yep its moose hunting season....

The one good thing of all this means that hunting season is drawing to a close and all this insanity will end soon!

On the up side I do love having the house to myself while they are gone!! I can't even begin to tell you how feverishly the house gets cleaned when I have NO interuptions. Living with someone who works nights and sleeps during the day makes for very quiet house cleaning. How blissfully happy I am when I can blast my music and vacuum and make all the noise I want! So far this week I have completely cleaned and rearranged the livingroom. Gone through all my closets in the bathroom. Completely dusted and cleaned our bedroom (the dust bunnies were scary) and did a floor to ceiling clean upstairs in the kids rooms and bathroom.

I do hope to get at my kitchen cupboards and if time will allow I would love to go through the basement too! It is so good for my soul to declutter and get rid of all the excess junk that collects throughout the year!

Brittany and I have a few plans for us girls. We may do a shopping day and some dinners out. We have already gone bowling so that was cool!

As much as they enjoy their "vacation" I enjoy having this time through the day to do my thing around the house and man does it feel good!

Puppy Decisions....

Well I finally made my decision....and only time will tell if it was the right one...
In the end I decided to let Maya go. What a difficult decision it was, it was torture in the canine sense of the word!
I chose Ava, because of her fiestiness, movement and coat. I let Maya go because of her slightly softer temperment and gait.

When I visited Esther I really noticed how shy this little girl really was. She hid and was pretty reluctant to check things out. Ava on the other hand marched right up to all Esther's dogs like she owned the place!
I really liked both of these puppies, I loved Maya's length of leg however if she hated being in new situations, how would she react to the show ring....no point in having a beautiful dog if they wither in the ring.
So time will tell if I made the wrong decision. Maya has gone to a wonderful home. A young couple in Richmond Hill, no children and no plans for children...so Maya will be their little girl.
I hope I don't kick my butt 6 months down the road!!!

Autumn's First Show

Autumn was recently in her 1st show! We have been doing a little bit of training with her and thought it was time she got into the ring. However once we received the entries we figured she would have a slim chance of getting any points but we were entered so what the heck!
Here is Autumn in her dressing room waiting to go into the ring.
She is a stunning girl, with such a sweet personality. Not to mention she is my spoiled princess!

Here is Peter my handler in the ring with her. She looked so amazing I could have cried! There were 8 yorkies showing that weekend and Autumn was the youngest of them all so really I had no expectation for points...(it would have been nice though)!!

The line up...Autumn is the one on the end. The one at the front ended up taking points for winners female.

Here is my baby after it was all over!!! What a greeting I recieved!! I was just as happy to have her back as she was happy to be back!
She ended up taking reserve on the Sunday so I was very proud of her! She looked awsome and walked amazing and was a happy happy girl in the ring. She learned alot that weekend and hopefully the next time she is out, she will pick up some points! Peter is a great handler and exhibits them so beautifully!

I am going to let her grow up a bit more before her next show..have my thoughts on a show in February so we'll see....

Doggie Dentals/ Ty's neuter & Visit with Esther

It has become a tradition of sorts for my yearly visit in the fall to Esthers with 3-4 dogs in tow for dentals and other procedures they may need.
Her vet cross the border does amazing work and is very very affordable.
So this year was no exception. My day usually starts very early in the morning to make the trip so that we can have the dogs in at the clinic by 10. I loaded up Autumn, Cole and Ty. Ty was getting neutered and Cole and Autumn their dentals.
I also brought the puppies along for Esther to see.
We had a lovely visit as usual and smiling white teeth and poor Ty no longer able to reproduce...awww...too bad :D
Esther is an amazing friend and a wonderful host and she always makes me feel right at home. Plus welcomes how ever many dogs I have in tow! It is nice to be able to take the time out and visit do a little shopping and of course lots of yorkie talk!
Thanks Esther!!! You're the best!!

Girls Night out...

A couple of weekends ago, a few girls from work and I decided it would be fun to go out for a "girls night out".
Initially it started out we were going to go over to Michigan and go to this huge outlet mall. However the numbers started dwindling so it wasn't feasible to drive that far with just a few of us. So it got scaled back to going to the Vaughan Mills Mall.
We spent the entire day at the mall and did some serious damage to the credit cards! Our Christmas shopping started in a big way...all our bags to prove it!

We drove around afterwards and found a place to eat...thanks to Melissa's gps! Had a great dinner then drove around looking for a place to stay for the night. We found a Best Western in Richmond Hill. Then, shopping aside the girls let loose!

Melissa giving me the "Oh no you don't" look....

Tammy and Melissa quite enjoying their evening!

Tammy looking for the CMT station.

We had a great time! Lots of laughs, giggles and wine! Totally was worth it! We even had a noise complaint at midnight...guess we were giggling too much!

So much blogging to do....so little time....

Been certainly lax on the blogging lately. Mainly because we have been super busy and I have hardly been home! Have some things to blog about when I get the chance!!

:: Autumn in her 1st show at Georgina Kennel Club ::
:: Girls Night out & Christmas Shopping ::
:: Visit with Esther ::
:: Doggie Dentals and Ty's neutering ::
:: Puppy Decisions ::
:: Moose Hunting ::
When I get my house in order and inbetween working I will get at it! For some reason it takes twice as long as the time that I've been away to clean my house back to normal! I do know how these kids can mess it up so fast! Better get at it!

Happy Birthday Cass!!!

Happy Birthday Casi! Wow..hard to believe you are 14 already!

Brittany giving Casi an Oreo cookie with a candle! Best she could come up with on short notice and a short budget!!
Casi into one of her birthday presents..InkDeath..the 3rd book in the trilogy by Cornelia Funke... One of Casi's favourite pastimes..her nose in a book!

Oh how we love you girlie! You are growing up into such a fine young woman. We are so proud of your accomplishments past and in the future. Happy Birthday BABY!

All Election"ed" out!!

Is it just me or is anyone else out there just plain tired of elections? I totally understand why we have them and I agree that the people should have the right to elect the person who will represent them but wow...it seems this year for the most part has been all about elections. First we had the democratic race in the US, then our own prime minister called an election, and to finish off the presidential election yesterday.
I for one would not be upset to turn on the news and have something other than politics as the main topic. I really do not like watching the campaigns as it seems the parties focus on smear tactics and painting the other candidate in a dim light.
It really bugs me when people in the public eye speak and then they spend days with political anaylists picking apart "what they said" or "what they didn't say" or "what their body languange meant" or "what was behind their message". One time I was watching the news and they had an anaylist picking apart someone's "hand language"......Pleeeease!!!
Hopefully both countries can get down to business now that the elections are over and run their countries that they were elected to do. Lets focus on important issues and stop analysing hand language.

Hunting Crazy

All year we, hear about it...the planning of the hunt. It is where sane people for some reason go insane talking jibberish about deer stands, rifles and pellets or hunting vehicles and weeks long trips far from home in some unpopulated bush far far up north. It is where they dream of getting the big one and get up in the middle of the night to go wait for one.
It is when bright florescent orange becomes fashionable and the more of it the better. It is when you are driving along and see specks of orange partially hidden in tree lines.
It is when men and women who have no patience to sit still for more than 5 minutes can spend all day sitting up in a tree...waiting....
Then it comes and you hear more stories of "the big one that got away" or these orange clad people bonding over their trophy. It would be so nice to have a spa week during this week of deer season.
Its not like I am against hunting but personally I couldn't or wouldn't do it but I just get sooooo tired of listening to the same stories year after year. I understand why they hunt and why in alot of ways its a good thing. These guys are by the book and go by ministry guidelines which is great and they doing the right things. Just stop talking to me about it..not so much to ask right?

Indian Summer--In November??

Cannot believe the weather we have been having!! It would seem we are getting indian summer in November!! Whatever!! I'll take it!
The temps have been in the high teens during the day!! Absolutely gorgeous! Compared to last week and then week before when we got snow I will definitely take this!

Even got the clothes hung on the line yesterday. I have already put away the pegs so they were just hung over the line but wow..it felt good to hang clothes out in November and not freeze my fingers!

Horsin' Around

Ya, these are not horses but I thought it was a cute pic so I stuck it in the post!

One day last week it was gorgeous out and I thought it was time to get the horses ready for winter. So we did some farrier work on a couple of them and wormed them all. They were big suckies and kept nibbling at our clothes or getting in our faces as we were trying to work! After Dave left for work I got the comb out and groomed their manes and just loved them up. Thought it was a good time for a photo shoot.
