Havn't been around much

Sorry for the lack of blogging...I really havn't been up to much exciting stuff....
Been busy..yes...but nothing really out of the ordinary.
Will do a mid winter blog soon to catch you's up to whats been going on with the kids and such.

Autumns First Points @ Ontario Breeders (Markham)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rSlShPiOdo

Sorry for the link...hope it works. I really tried to upload a video and it wouldn't work. I don't think the format was compatible with blogger sooooo.....

This past weekend Autumn was entered in her 2nd weekend of shows. I, of course was working so had to rely on my good buddy and handler Peter Scott for his services. I was on pins and needles all weekend long (just ask my co-workers) it drove me crazy not knowing what was going on!
Pete would text me and let me know but it was hours after she had shown and I guess my impatience was getting the better of me :)!!!
So Friday and Saturday my baby took reserve, which is 2nd. Good result but just not enough for points. I was pleased that she was taking reserve in the fact that there was a good entry, so I knew she was doing good but those points are GOLDEN!
Anyway Sunday she didn't win anything so by Monday I was pretty disapointed. I left the house late and broke a few speed limits laws and probably had a bit of road rage (inside my vehicle of course :(!) cause I was worried I wasn't gonna make it in time to see Autumn show.
I arrived just as the Pugs were in..this is good as they show alphabetically...
So I had a chance to go over to the show services and see who all was the competition for the weekend. I was coming back to ringside and not really focusing on anyone in particular and I see a hand waving me back...Peter had moved along ringside and was motioning me to stay back!
Anyway found another yorkie person who also had a yorkie with Peter and we waited for our babies to show. She had a male so he went first and unfortunately didn't win Winners Male. Then it was the girls turn. The link above shows Autumn winning Winners Female for one point. She then competed against the Winners male dog and also won Best of Winners for another point! I was sooooo YES!
When I knew she was finished I approached and got a royal greeting and face wash from my girl. I think I probably missed her more than she missed me but it felt so good to have her back in my arms!
She hasn't left my side too much since and it is so nice to have her back snuggled up against me at night!
I plan on sending her out with Peter again likely the end of March to a show in Sudbury. From then I may do some local shows with her myself and she what she does.
I do hope the link works, I was able to upload on my facebook page and UTube so hopefully you can view it there.
Thank you so much to my new "doggie" buddy Esther M for taking the video!

My "god" puppies...

Was just sent this lovely photo of my "god" puppies. These are the puppies that I helped bring into the world a few weeks ago for my buddy Esther.
The littlest one was a bit of a challenge at the time and I am happy to say that she is doing great! All of the babies are happy, healthy and thriving!
Just had to brag! :)

BC Bound!

Just this morning we have booked our flight to BC in July to attend my nephews wedding!
Thanks for the tip sis!!
She called me saying that Air Canada was having a seat sale. So after a great deal, my ladies and I will be flying to BC. Thanks you too Nanc for the use of some of your Aeroplan points...that was so amazing THANK YOU!
Looking forward to seeing my family in the summer and of course attending N & B's wedding!
Luv yu's

Where did the time go??

Unbelievably we have been checking insurance quotes for James for his own vehicle. Honestly...where did the time go? Seems not too long ago we were signing him up for kindergarden and t-ball....
Now he has been taking driver training and is almost done. Once (if) he passes he will be able to get his G2 licence in March. If he doesn't pass, he will have to wait until August a full year from when he got his G1.
With our evenings being so busy and about to get busier, it would be handy if we had an extra driver to do some of the running around. Dave is going back on nights, I work evenings, Casi now works evenings, James works evenings and Brittany is joining ball again.
So we will see but the possibility of him having his own vehicle is quite likely....sigh.......
I don't know where the time went...
I can't believe next year he will be done high school and possibily off to college or wherever his path will take him. You blink and they are almost grown...

Movie Rave!

We are not avid movie watchers but in the past few weeks have been able to watch the following 2 movies....
The first is Marley and Me..based on a true story by John Grogan. You will fall in love with this dog and definitely bring kleenex as this ones a heartbreaker. I was sobbing like a baby near the end of this one.

Just last night I watched Hotel for Dogs. I really enjoyed this story too. I wanted to swoop in and rescue all the dogs. It brings to light the need for good foster families (human and canine) and also the nation wide problem of over population of dogs. The whole reason most dogs end up in shelters as they were thoughtlessly brought into this world and sold or given to people on a whim who didn't think through caring for this life for the next 10-15 years.
I thought about Ty through the entire movie and thought about where he might have ended up had we not showed up in his life when we did.

So if you have a chance, watch or rent (when available) these movies. They are good movies that both adults and children can enjoy.

6 months exactly!

6 months ago we welcomed Sadie's puppies into the world. How they have changed in those months. We still have Ava with us, and Dexter and Miller have new families. Happy 6 month birthday to all 3 babies!
Ava, we love your beautiful face, to me you have the epitome of the yorkie head. I love your spunk and your fearless nature. I also love the way you are friendly to everyone who visits and are not afraid of any one!

Here is my sweet girl at 6 weeks.....

And today at 6 months......

Not too long after the birth of Ava and her siblings ( a week to be exact ) we also welcomed Cruiser, Cricket and Maya. Cruiser as well has remained here with us while Cricket and Maya too have new families. They will hit 6 months on the 15th. So an early happy 6 month birthday to them too!
Cruiser, I have come to love your sweet nature, you posess your dads sweet and loving personality. I also love how you are trying to "come into your own" and boss around your papa and Tye..(the other boys in the house)
I love your endless liquid brown eyes, your all around conformation and the way you float when you move.
Here is Cruiser at 6 weeks...
And here is Cruiser today at almost 6 months...

I am so pleased with both puppies! They are maturing into fine specimens of their breed and I am so happy that I kept them both! As with most yorkies, training has been challenging but most things that are totally worthwhile are worth the hard work!
Both babies have been to some conformation classes and I was so amazed with them and how well they did! I am excited to see how what the future holds for them both and more excited when they will enter the show scene!
